Boots are meant to get muddy. It’s not that we don’t care about them. We clean the muck off but they are never the same, even under flattering light.
Are we like boots, meant to get muddy? As I write this, it is the season of Lent, a time to consider that we may be no more than boots to God, even though we are loved, a time to consider what it means to serve. Easter is coming, yes, and with it the promise we shall be resurrected and made new. But now it is Lent. Now we are in the world. It is muddy!

I love this one on so many levels, especially since one of my nicknames is “Boots”!

Yes, and out of the mud grows the lotus flower. The mud is part of life. I believe it is important not to resist that but to embrace it (not saying that is easy)…. Your pictures with quotes are perfect for Tumblr or facebook. I like the light color font against the dark background. Very cool!
