In February, 2019, I recommended The Mac Shop for Apple Macintosh repairs, service, and support in Wilmington, Delaware.
When someone helps in a time of distress, it makes sense to thank them. In this case, The Mac Shop — 21a Trolley Square, Wilmington, Delaware — got my MacBook Pro humming again quickly and at a price so low that I could not divulge it for fear others would ask for the same deal and be disappointed.
If I got a deal, perhaps it was because I was a returning customer. In November, 2017, The Mac Shop jazzed up my early-2011 laptop. They added six gigabytes of RAM and replaced the internal hard drive with one that was four times faster.
If I got a deal, perhaps it was also because I was personable, because I was not pushy, because I was ready to come back later, and because I admitted I was a doofus for clicking on Apple’s “UPGRADE NOW” button. Apple is always pushing upgrades to its operating systems, upgrades which can have negative effects, especially on existing applications. In this case, it crashed my computer. I could no longer even start it!
So, because I was grateful, I recommended The Mac Shop for Apple Macintosh repairs, service, and support.
The Mac Shop Closed in November, 2020
The Mac Shop closed in November, 2020 according to the Delaware Business Now website. That site also reported that the owner, John Paul Mac Isaac, filed a $500 million suit against Twitter in U.S. District Court in South Florida. That website reports that Mac Isaac stated that he was forced to close the store following threats and negative reviews, all having to do with him sharing data from a computer left unclaimed in his possession.
