My wife, perhaps at some cost, has accepted that I am a photographer. If we visit a city like New York, chances are good that I will be making photographs. It makes me a less than ideal companion. God bless her.
Here is a sample of a 26-hour visit to New York City in January 2023. Of the 370 images I shot, only 120 were kept and only 66 are shown here. At some future time, I may display some of these images in themed galleries on this website — “In The Museum” and “City Streets”. For now, here they are, in the order I shot them.
These photos show only a small portion of New York City — lunch at Vito’s Pizza, a visit to the Metropolitan Museum of Art, fire engines at 2nd Avenue and East 74th Street, supper at A La Turka restaurant, drinks at Bemelmen’s Bar at the Carlyle Hotel, the view from our room at the Even Hotel Times Square South, a visit to the Whitney Museum the next morning, and a walk north on 10th Avenue to 35th Street.
All the images were taken with a 50mm lens on a full-frame digital SLR.
