Good, even great photographs may be found anywhere, at any time.
There is no need to travel to get good photos. Washing dishes, mowing the yard, pumping gas, buying groceries — all of these are prime locations for wonderful images.
Recognizing the photogenic in the ordinary can be challenging. When I travel, my eyes seem more alive and the world seems new. When I am at home, my surroundings are so familiar, so ordinary, that I often have to remind myself that the extraordinary may appear at any moment, in any situation.

After Eating Tuna Salad from a Stainless-Steel Bowl

My wife’s tuna salad was so good that I used my forefinger to scrape the last tasty bits from the stainless-steel bowl. Then, like a first-grader with finger paint, I started playing with the overlapping swipes until something photogenic appeared.
